The Senator representing the good people of Ebonyi Central senatorial district, Distinguished Senator Kenneth Eze has introduced a people-centric system in the administration of the zone which had suffered neglect with constituents celebrating a New dawn of impactful leadership.

Senator Eze in his usual way of ensuring that no part of the zone is left out in his magnanimity had during the New year
Thanksgiving Service and Empowerment programme distributed empowerment items worth millions of Naria to his constituents.

The event was kicked off by the state governor, Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru had in attendance people from different parts of the state including major stakeholders from the state.

Governor Nwifuru in his speech urged the senator to continue to render account of his stewardship to his people as he is at the red chambers of the National Assembly courtesy of his People's support.
The chairman of the planning committee and former chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Ikechukwu Nwafor,  who gave a breakdown of the names of the various beneficiaries of the empowerment items, including their LGAs, wards and phone numbers said the materials were distributed to people who needed it.
‘The materials were distributed to people who actually needed it. This will have great economic impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and their families as it will boost the businesses of the beneficiaries.

He charged anyone who was in doubt to call the numbers of the beneficiaries and carryout independent investigation.

A  Public Affairs Analyst and Human Rights Activist, Barr. Ugama Steve who commended the Senator  for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the welfare of his constituents said the items distributed will go along way in improving the lives of his constituents noting that this gesture is a shining example of what it means to be a true representative of the people.

Barr. Ugama hailed the transparency with which the distribution was carried out and said he was highly impressed with what the Senator have done.

He said he had to personally go and witness the distribution of the empowerment items to disperse the fear raised by certain individuals who alleged that the Senator merely hired the items for the seek of taking pictures and videos without giving them out to his people.
According to him, the empowerment programme was real as he personally interviewed many of the beneficiaries and some are from his community Ezza Ezekuna.

" I witnessed firsthand, direct beneficiaries, people who have no connection with him. Of particular interest for me was a young lady who said she learnt tailoring but did not have the money to purchase the sewing machine to start.

“I approached the Senator and said these are the kind of people that should benefit from this. And he approved it immediately. The economic impact of this cannot be over-emphasized.

“If someone has been jobless for a long time and is given a tricycle that is worth over 5 million naira for him to start up life, it will help him if he is diligent enough.

He urged the senator to continue to use his position to attract development to his people and thank God for having used his influence to secure federal government jobs for over 60 youths across geopolitical zones in the state.

“Now one other thing that I observed that is of particular interest to me, was a group of selected young men who came to thank him for giving them federal appointments.
“One of them, came with his wife, his two kids, and his parents. When I interviewed him, he said he had graduated for years and had nothing doing. But he reached out to the senator, sent his CV to him, and he got a job. He is presently serving in one of the firms in Port Harcourt. So that is a big boost to him and his  family”,

The Senator who is the Chairman, Senate committee on information while speaking with news men at his country home in onueke the ancestral home of Ezza people, said he is only but a vesal in the hands of God and emphasized that he will continue to do good to his people while urging the beneficiaries of various items to use them judiciously for the benefit of themselves and their families.
