Late Ezzinna Livinus Nworie Egede laid to rest amid tributes




The remains of late Ezzinna  Livinus  Nworie Egede has been committed to the morher-earth at his country home, Ndiegu-azu Umuoghara ancient Kingdom in Ezza-North LGA of the State amidst heartfelt testimonies of his great act of kindness and hard work by family, relatives, villagers and dignitaries from all works of life who gathered to bid him last welfare. 

A requiem mass preceding his internment at his Compound was officiated by Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, His Lordship Rt Rev Dr Peter Nworie Chukwu


In a homely, Reverend Fr. Abraham Nwali, who spoke on the theme, " the three transitions of life" said life is a precious gift from God which no man has the power to alter and everything that happens in the life of man from criddle to grave is  the will of God. 
He recounted the good deeds of the deceased in furtherance of education and Christianity in the area and urged those affected by his death to take solace in the positive testimonies of people. 

In an oration, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Malachi  Ugochukwu Egede who described his late father as a disciplinarian, exceptional father, community and church pathfinder said his father was also an unassuming fighter whose childhood travails of life could not stop from becoming great and prayed God for eternal repose of his soul and announced the birth of Ogidiga Development Foundation(ODF) as a way of immortalizing their late father. 

Dignitaries who graced the burial ceremony including, the former Deputy Governor of Enugu State His Excellency , Dr. Sunday Onyebuchi, the member representing Ezza-North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Joseph Nwobashi, the Chairman of Ezza North Local Government Area, Chief Ogodo-Ali Nomeh, the State Commissioner for Rural Development, Chief Barr Ikeuwa Omebe and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Mrs. Mfon Williamson, described the deceased as a forthright personality and humanitarian who would be greatly missed for his intellectual capacity, mentorship, inclusive leadership among other distinguishing traits. 

Others who paid tributes to late Chief Livinus Egede included a lecturer, Department of Geology, Ebonyi University, Professor Hilary Eze, the Coordinator of Ezza-North Development Centre, Prince Samuel Igboke, the traditional ruler of Okposhi Umuoghara autonomous community, Eze, Anthony Njoku,  the Executive Secretary, State Pension Board, Comrade Emeka Nwonu and Mr Henry Nworie Permanent Secretary Ministry of Human Capital Development and Monitoring among others said late Ezzinna Livinus Nworie Egede lived an exemplary life full of great substances who contributed in no small measures to the growth and development of  Ebonyi State.

They  enjoined the family to bear the loss of their late father with fortitude and prayed God for his eternal repose. 

The audience at the church event were entertained with different musical and cultural dances.
