Yesterday, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Bldr (Dr) Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru endorsed the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha for second tenure ahead of the party's congresses coming up early next year. The governor made the endorsement before Edda people who paid him Christmas homage at his Oferekpe country-home.
By this endorsement, Governor Nwifuru has again, won the hearts of Ebonyi people. He has demonstrated that he's a visionary leader who means well for the party and people. He has proven to be a man who rewards hardwork and good for good. He has also displayed political sagacity to deepen the already existing robust peace in Ebonyi APC.
Governor Nwifuru and Chief Emegha are two good heads highly committed to moving Ebonyi to an enviable height. The bond between the two leaders is significant and Divine and it's still a surprise to many how both men seated in one vehicle while returning from campaign to Abakaliki and had ghastly accident on the way but both of them came out alive and unscathed.
Since yesterday the governor made the endorsement, commendations from political analysts, stakeholders, youths, party men and women in the state have been trailing, which is a testament that Chief Emegha knows the job and the best choice for the people.
The second coming of Chief Emegha as the party's helmsman in the state is a round peg in a round hole given his trajectory and strides in party leadership.
Before the emergence of Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha as the state Chairman of APC, the party was characterized by factions with stakeholders against one another for selfish interest. On assumption office, as a security guru who received special security training in Israel and a seasoned administrator who understood that a political party hardly progresses and achieves its common objectives without unity, Chief Emegha employed his intelligence in mediation or conflict resolution/peacemaking and embarked on a reconciliatory tour. He visited APC stakeholders in the state at their various homes or residence for the purpose of uniting them as one family. He reconciled those who were aggrieved and that was how factions died completely in Ebonyi APC.
The unity in APC under Emegha has helped the party in many ways. The party is strong and formidable and this has reflected in the performances of the party in the general and council elections previously held. No wonder a Latin writer and Syrian, Publilius Syrus averred thus, "where there is unity, there is always victory". In corroboration, United Kingdom born writer cum philanthropist, J.K Rowling stated; "we are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided".
Suffice it to say that Ebonyi APC has recorded too many achievements under the chairmanship of Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha. Under Emegha, the party has been enjoying peace, unity and progress devoid of schism and has been receiving new party members, and today, opposition has been collapsed in the state. Under Emegha, APC produced 3 senators, 3 Reps members, 19 state assembly members, 13 council chairmen and 171 ward councillors during the elections coupled with three opposition members in the state assembly he later brought into the party, thereby making it a total of 22 APC members out of 24 members in the state assembly.
Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha is an administrator, diplomat and peace builder who is best described as man of many parts. Emegha's continuity in office as State Chairman of APC and Nwifuru as governor of Ebonyi state will attract more groundbreaking achievements, stability, victories and progress to the party for the good of party faithful and Ebonyians in general.
One good turn deserves another.
