Members of the Ebonyi State Agricultural Land Development Authority Board, led by its Executive Secretary, Hon. Maxwell Nwali, have commiserated with the family of Mrs. Lovette Elekwachi Akpa, the Board Chairman, over the passing unto glory of her brother-in-law, Hon. Akpa Vincent Eze, whose death occurred on February 28, 2024, aged 49.
The late Hon. Eze Vincent was the immediate younger brother of Ogbuefi Enekwachi Akpa and was buried today amidst tears and tributes.
Hon. Nwali, in his condolence speech during the burial at St. Paul's Primary School Field, Ogwu Uburu, described the death of the late Hon. Akpa Vincent Eze as a tragic loss and expressed deep sympathy for the family of Hon. Elekwachi Akpa.
He urged the family of Hon. Elekwachi Akpa to take solace in the fact that the late Hon Vincent Eze lived a life filled with worthy accomplishments.
He prayed that God grant him eternal rest and for his family to find the fortitude to bear the loss.
"On behalf of EB-SALDA, I wish to convey the condolences of all members on the premature demise of your brother-in-law, who left the family, thereby creating an irreplaceable vacuum.".
"I therefore urge you to take solace in the fact that it's a call to eternity by God, which nobody can question other than accepting the loss with fortitude and keeping faith in the Lord.".
"Accept our deepest sense of regards to your family.".
The late Eze Akpa was the Supervisory Councillor for Health in Ohaozara LGA, appointed by the then LG chairman, Hon. Chaka Nweze, and later became the acting chairman of Ohaozara LGA. Upon the creation of Ohaozara DC, he became a pioneer member of the management committee.
In 2015–2019, Eze served as a technical assistant to Governor David Umahi.
The burial ceremony was also attended by the former governor and Minister of Works, Engnr. David Umahi, the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifiru, the Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Patricia Obilla, and many other dignitaries.
