Int'l Women's Day: Aviation Commissioner lauds Gov Nwifuru, wife for empowering women

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu has commended Governor Francis Nwifuru and his wife, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru for uniting and given women chances to contribute to the development of the State.

Mrs Obichukwu who stated this in an interview with journalists in Abakaliki during  the 2024 International Women’s Day celebrations, entitled: invest in women, accelerate Progress
commended the Governor and the wife for their determination to empower over 130 indigent women of the State with over one million naria each.

She described the one million naria empowerment of 130 indigent women from the 13 L.G.As of the State, as a great boaster to women folk, and prayed for more vision, wisdom and knowledge for the Governor to succeed in his administration.

The commissioner  expressed gratitude to the Governor Nwifuru for the opportunities given to Ebonyi women to contribute their quota towards the progress and advancement of the State.

“Women should be celebrated because they are the neck of this administration. When you celebrate them, you empower them the more, it’s of more benefits to the society.

If you come to Ebonyi State, women are contributing to the development of the State, courtesy of the pragmatic Governor Francis Nwifuru and the wife, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru”.

“They (women) have never been found wanting in any assignments given to them. And so, the women engaged in political appointments have been living up to the expectations, and that’s why all women, both our mothers in the villages should be celebrated”.

“With the orientation of the Governor, and capacity enhancement, the women of Ebonyi State are now very receptive, hospitable, and tolerant of each other. Before now, because of hunger, and level of poverty in the State, women didn’t seem to have been so tolerant , not considered, trusted with high levels of responsibility. But now, the narrative is positive, love generating and amiable relationships”.

“Hunger is a dangerous instrument of disenchantment, hatefulness. But in this administration, Governor Nwifuru, has abolished that kind of attitude. Women have realized that you must work hard in order to become useful and contribute to the development of the society”.

“Genuinely acquiring money is not the responsibility of men alone, a good number of women do better in their businesses. And when you have something tangible you are doing, you will be able to sustain your family” she said.
