Easter: Ebonyi Lawmaker preaches love, faith in God...restates commitment to quality representation

The member representing Abakaliki North State Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Nwoke, has called Christians to live by the teachings, virtues, and message of love of Jesus Christ.

The lawmaker, in his Easter message, equally urged Christians to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus as a sign of God’s love and gift to them: "They should continue to spread love and keep faith." He said.

Hon. Nwoke, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Sports, maintained that Easter is the hallmark of Christianity, stressing that the celebration of Christ’s resurrection and salvation offers Christians a great opportunity to come closer to God.

While wishing the good people of Abakaliki North constituency and indeed all Ebonyians spiritually rewarding Easter celebration, Hon. Nwoke restated his commitment to continue to offer quality representation to his people.

"Easter tells us that life is to be interested not simply in terms of things but in terms of ideals and optimals. It is a sacred time for Christians to celebrate and honor the resurrection of Jesus Christ following His crucifixion. We proclaim the resurrection of Christ when His light illuminates the dark moments of our existence.".

"Easter portrays that not even death can match the power of faith, hope, love, and promise that Christ has and has made for His children. It’s not about the bunny, eggs, or even dressing up for the church. It’s about the hope and faith that we have because there was an empty tomb.".

"We tolerate a little spring rain to enjoy the sunshine that follows. It’s just like we tolerate a little heartburn to enjoy profuse and cornucopious amounts of Easter candy. Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection not only in the book alone but in every leaf of springtime.".

"I join you in gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice and the joyful renewal it brings to all of God’s children this Easter season. Giving thanks for the cross and rejoicing in the resurrection. The grave could not hold him; this is the greatest message ever given to the world. Jesus is living; death could not hold him.".

"May this Easter provide us the opportunity to grow spiritually in the sense of examining our capacity for articulating in our everyday affairs the values that Christ lived that are required in society, and may Christ's resurrection take away the bitterness in our hearts.".

"As a time of sober reflection, it challenges us to do our best by making the personal sacrifices that would be beneficial to our constituents, as I reiterate my ever-readyness and unwavering commitment for continuous quality, effective, and efficient representations to you all.".

"I wish you the hope and beauty of springtime and the promise of brighter days." He stated.
