Former ward councillors in Ebonyi State, yesterday said last week's judgment of the supreme court which affirmed the victory of governor Francis Nwifuru, will give him strength and enablement to focus on governance in the state.
The councillors who served between 1999-2002 stated this in Abakaliki the state capital in a congratulatory message to the governor signed by Chief Maxwell Nwail, their Chairman, Daniel Ogbuzuru Secretary and David Ukah Director of Media.
The councillors who are known as pioneer councillors forum, described the supreme court judgement as the wishes of the people of Ebonyi state.
We, the members of Ebonyi State Pioneer Councillors Forum (1999 - 2002) wish to convey our profound felicitations to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on his resounding victory at the Supreme Court.
The affirmation of Governor Nwifuru's election is an eloquent testimony of the will of the people of Ebonyi State.
They noted that the governor has successfully weathered the storm of distraction caused by the myriads of litigation that started at the tribunal and ended in the Supreme court.
"It is indeed a well-deserved victory, as it reflects the will of God and the confidence of the Ebonyians, which they reposed in you through their votes during the last elections on March 18th, 2023.
"We are confident that this victory will give you the needed strength to implement your "Peoples' charter of needs" manifesto to its fullest.
"As we congratulate Your Excellency, we wish to urge your opponents to accept your victory as the will of God and see reasons to join forces with you to move our dear state forward.
"This remarkable judgment is not only a testament to the strength of our democracy but also a resounding endorsement of your leadership and the collective will of the people.
"Your Excellency, may this victory encourage and inspire you to continue leading our dear state with dedication, integrity and visions that place the welfare of the people at its core, as you have already demonstrated within the past seven months of your administration", the former ward lawmakers stated.
