According to him , we had our annual general meeting (AGM)  of the Eastern zone of IPMAN and I was elected as the Eastern zonal Chairman. The IPMAN System 2E which covers 13 states with five NNPCL Depots in Aba, Port Harcourt, Cross River, Enugu and Markudi is very important being the zone that produces the over 90 percent of the country's crude.

He maintained that the focus of IPMAN is primarily to cater for the welfare of its members and interface with government agencies such as the NNPCL, etc.

We will try as much as possible to operate smoothly and peacefully with the stakeholders and the members of the public. We are also there to protect the interest of marketers and the public by making that the public are not cheated.

"For us to achieve our expected mandate, we will set up task forces to monitor the sell of products so as to prevent short changes of the public by marketers and to ensure that what is due to our members from government is given to them with less acrimony and fighting.

"It is important to State that we are there to monitor and regulate the activities of our members so that they don't cheat the public, because we have the mandate to do so.

"IPMAN as well will make sure the distribution lines are adequately monitored to secure the products when the refineries are back in operation. It is our responsibility to see our members conform to the due process expected of them instead of engaging in sharp practices which gives us bad image.

Nworuh urged the federal government to quicken the rehabilitation of the local refineries in the country so as to crash the prices of the products.  He also called on NNPCL to give products direct to the depots and stop the middlemen-syndrome which had been the bane of the problems from day one.
