Ebonyi Students express confidence in Nwifuru's administration













Nigerian students in Ebonyi State have expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, citing that his  people's charter of needs agenda was a dream come true for the people of Ebonyi State.

The students who convened on the platform of the National Association of Ebonyi State Students (NAESS), at the Re-meritona hotel and suites Abakaliki to mark this year's international students day, commended Governor Nwifuru for ensuring the security and welfare of all students in the State.
 
Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant (SA) to the governor on Students' Affairs, Comrade Joshua Nwafor, disclosed that the Governor Nwifuru increased the monthly subvention of the State's owned University and paid many months salary arrears owed to the University workers.

Nwafor also commended the governor for providing a 100-seater bus to different campuses in the State for free transportation of staff and students as well as the introduction of scholarships for masters and Ph.D. students to boost human capacity in the State.

"Our Governor has maintained tight security measures for the entire students of the state and today we enjoy great peace across our different campuses.

"Let me also appreciate the Governor for giving his express approval to conduct elections into different offices of the National Association of Ebonyi State Students (NAESS) worldwide which has gone into extinction for the past 8 years", he added.

Earlier, the senior special assistant to the governor on internally generated revenue (IGR), comrade Martins Okwuegbo had urged the students to shun cultism and indecent dressing, to focus on achieving the goals of becoming better people in the society.

The event, recognized Architect Christian Asaga with an award of credence.

Speaking, Mr Asaga urged the students to focus on wealth creation aside from academics as the world revolves around innovations rather than certificates.END//
