The members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in Ebonyi state have offered a partnership with the state government on its ongoing urban infrastructural renewal projects, especially to adequately monitor and supervise for quality service delivery.

This came as the state government stressed the need for professional bodies, corporate organizations, groups, and individuals to support its efforts in the ongoing urban and rural infrastructural renewal projects.

The State chairman of NSE, Engr. Enyinnaya Eni who spoke yesterday when he led a delegation of the members on a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, noted the organization's willingness to partner with the state government and deploy professionalism.

Reacting, the state Commissioner for Works, Engr Stanley Mbam expressed the state’s readiness to partner with the professional body and reiterated Governor Francis Nwifuri’s call on professional bodies to support government programs in the interest of the public.

The commissioner, who commended the group for the initiative, said " I am pleased to welcome you home to your original base. I want to assure you that my office will always be open to welcome you and we cannot do without you. Therefore, feel free anytime to make useful contributions and you can be sure of our full cooperation at all times".

He reminded them that their roles are very vital and that they cannot afford to be far from the government adding that " the Governor understands your value and will be glad to make use of your professional contributions. As for all your requests, please be rest assured that I will make your plight known to the Governor" he said.

Earlier, Engr. Eni who said that they were in the Ministry of Works and Transport to identify with their colleague the commissioner and pledge their willingness to partner with the state government through the ministry, appreciated Governor Nwifuru for appointing Engr. Stanley Mbam as commissioner for Works and also his profound recognition to engineers in his administration.

They described Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State as a social engineer who believes in professionalism as a benchmark for successful governance.

He said that the Ministry of Works is the home of all engineers in the state. "so our visit is a homecoming. We are ready to partner with the ministry as much as we are equally ready to embark on project supervision as part of our contribution to ensure good quality service delivery in the state. Hon. Commissioner you have our support to work in this office and we shall be readily available anytime you call on us"
