President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Barr Chioma Nweze as Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on community development for South East region.
Nweze who hails from Okposi, Ohaozara LGA was former governor David Umahi's commissioner for trade and investment
It was gathered that the appointment of Nweze, who is a loyalist to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, come after three weeks, that the ministers was inaugurated by President Tinubu's led administration in the country.
Our correspondent reports that there have been alleged agitations by political leaders of the South East geopolitical zone over alleged marginalization in appointment of ministers, wherein, south east, were given only five slots, while other regions produced eight to ten ministers.
Investigation revealed, that Nweze was appointed to allegedly douse tension, show further inclusion of the south east region into the President Tinubu's led administration, and to engage the communities of the five eastern states in a meaningful development.
Nweze was appointed alongside other fifteen Senior Special Assistants, SSAs, to represent; North Central, South West, South South, North East and North West on community Engagement.
The Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to the President on community development South East, Nweze, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, vowed to ensure that there is total unity and peace in Igbo land.
She however, applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, works minister, Umahi for the decision to carve out a Community Development, with the aim to ensure total development of South East region.
"I pay tribute to Mr. President's ingenious decision to carve out a Community Development lifeline for the South East which has spelled a tale of reassurance to Ndigbo worldwide as to their inclusiveness in the current political equation.
"I assure you, our leaders, that I shall consult widely on how best to proceed with our common agenda of reform and revitalisation for Ndigbo and South East. My team and I will continue to lean on and count on the wisdom of present and past Igbo elites. We will listen attentively to your concerns, expectations and admonitions.
Nweze further revealed her preparedness to carry the leaders of the south east region along, "I assure you, our leaders, that I shall consult widely on how best to proceed with our common agenda of reform and revitalisation for Ndigbo and South East.
"My team and I will continue to lean on and count on the wisdom of present and past Igbo elites. We will listen attentively to your concerns, expectations and admonitions. We come as your servants; you, our masters and we would at all times listen to and heed your advice" she stressed.
