Ebonyi APC Chair, Edda Elders council, other stakeholders endorse Ekumankama for second term

The chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the Edda Elders council and other stakeholders of Edda Local Government Area of the State  have endorsed and agreed to work for the re election of the incumbent council chairman, Prince Chima Ekumankama for a second term.

The endorsement came weekend, during the event marking his first anniversary in office, which was held in Abakaliki the State capital, and followed by various commendations on his achievement over the past twelve months.


The stakeholders who pointed out Prince Ekumankama as a humble young man said he has distinguished himself in serving his people with humility and the fear of God, recounting his successes in the security of lives and properties of Edda people, and infrastructure among other areas which has gained him the endorsement for a second term.

According to Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the State APC chairman;

"We have never had it this good in Edda land and I stand to thank God almighty for giving us the strength to insist that Prince Chima Ekumankama becomes the council chairman.

"We have seen his humility in service, and we knew he was going to do well, he has done marvelously well by giving peace to the people and he has done well and I will stand tall to support him to go back again". Emegha said.

On his part, Chief Ogodo Ali Nome, the Ezza North Council Chairman, who doubles as the ALGON chairman in the State;

"The taste of any food is in the eating, I was in Edda, and I assess that he is doing well to the party, loyal to the government, the Algon, and his people, which is the primary objective of his election to touch the lives of the downtrodden in Edda.

"I do say it often that the only reward for good work is another work, he has done very well for one year, and he needs to be allowed to show another year". Chief Nome said.

Also speaking, Prince Sunny Ugwuocha who is the immediate past commissioner for housing and urban development;

"We are celebrating liberation from security issues because if I classify his achievements, I will say security is the uppermost, he has been able to safeguard lives and properties in Edda, and he has done well in infrastructure by providing a road network going to the farm and hinterland".

He said while commending former Governor David Umahi, who according to him, spotted humility in him and allowed him to showcase it in leadership.

Lending his voice, Barr Livinus Agha, the chairman of Edda Elders council said

"We feel very proud to be associated with the council chairman, Prince Chima Ekumankama because he has done reasonably well and everybody is attesting to it.

"If already he is doing well and he has done well and the people said it indeed, we are asking him once again to work harder.

"We assure him as elders that we will always pray for him and give him our good counsel for the people of Edda," he added.

Others who spoke include Hon Stephen Igwe Orji, member representing Edda East State constituency in the State Assembly and Hon Prince Nkemka Onuma, member representing Edda West State constituency.
