Ebonyi partners NDE on Job creation, Skills Acquisition, Entrepreneurship

The Ebonyi State government has resolved to partner 
with the  National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in the area of Job creation, Skills Acquisition, Entrepreneurial skills development.

The state commissioner for Skill Development and job creation, Mr. Elijah Oko-Udu who disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Directorate office in Abakaliki the State capital, said  the move is in line with Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's intentions to improve livelihood in the State by creating job opportunities for Ebonyians through skills acquisition.

He said the partnership would simplify the process of actualizing Governor Nwifuru's people's charter of needs.

"I visited them to seek their partnership in assisting the ministry actualize His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's people's charter of needs in alleviating poverty through skill development and job creation". 

He described the Ministry for Skill Development and job creation as the major thrust of Governor Nwifuru's administration to the unemployed people in the State.

"His Excellency has determined to bridge the gap of unemployment as well as making the young Ebonyians potential resources. 

"The high rate of social vices is a result of lack of engagement but if someone is engaged, maybe in mechanic work, it's difficult to see the people in cultism and stealing".He said.

Speaking during the visit, the NDE State Coordinator, pastor Ebere Anaba, noted the agency's contributions to the advancement of human and capital development in the country since its creation by the Federal Government in 1986. 

He said the agency had partnered with the previous administration and would be deliberate in working with Governor Nwifuru's administration to progress in the fight against poverty and unemployment.

The Commissioner was received by all the departmental heads of the agency, who commended him for extending a partnership toward achieving a common goal.
