Ebonyi governor Sets For Training indigent diaspora persons on Skill Acquisition, Empowerment

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has commenced the sensitization of Ebonyi people engaged in menial jobs across the Country to return home for skill acquisition and empowerment.

The Governor demonstrated this when a team delegation from the State Ministry of Skill Development and job creation, in the company of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, visited Ebonyians in Anambra state.

Correspondent gathered that the delegation would equally visit Ebonyians in Abuja and Lagos to sensitize the people on the need to return home, acquire skills and get empowerment packages to be established.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Skills and job creation, Hon. Okwu oko Udu said Governor Nwifuru has vowed to restore the dignity of the people by ensuring that they acquire skills and get empowered to stop the era of hawking across the street while in diaspora.

"We are here as state delegates to Anambra state, the message of His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is simple, he has ordered that we come to Anambra, Lagos, Abuja among other places to speak directly with those engaged in menial jobs.

"We are here to speak particularly with those that are not doing anything reasonable enough to even feed their family, and when there's a crime across these places you see our people there, it's an insult to the State and our Governor has vowed to end it," he said.

On his path, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Oguzor Offia Nwali noted that the Governor's move is due to his understanding of the feelings of the poor and his determination to provide succor to them.

He said the exercise would be done in batches and pledged to ensure that the empowerment packages are made available to all participants to ensure transparency.

Speaking further, the host and chairman of FON Movement in Anambra, Chief Moses Ofeke commended Governor Nwifuru for meeting up with his campaign promises to the people in the diaspora engaged in menial jobs.

"During the campaign period we met with His Excellency and explained the pains of our people here, and he promised to do something about it today we have seen that his promise is kept and we are proud of him because he has started very well". he added.
