The Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Barrister Sunday Nwankwo and his Ohaozara LGA counterpart, Hon Ajah Chinonso have lauded governor David Umahi's developmental strides since he assumed office in 2015.
The Council Chairmen who spoke during a reception organized by Hon.Enekwachi Akpa to celebrate his appointment and swearing-in as a Commissioner by the Governor maintained that Umahi had performed beyond the expectations of the people of the State, especially in the area of infrastructure.
For Hon. Ajah, the Governor’s leadership ingenuity is top-notch.
He expressed gratitude to God for giving Ebonyi state Governor Umahi who he described as a man of vision to rewrite the history of the state.
He noted that Umahi had performed beyond the expectations of Ebonyians in all aspects of human endeavor.
He also expressed confidence in the ability and competence of the Governor-elect, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru to consolidate on the achievements of Gov Umahi.
He said: “I am very happy to be part of this administration, and I remain grateful to God for giving us this kind of governor. He has performed well in all sectors and his performance has restored the glory of Ebonyi state in the comity of States. We remain grateful to Him.
“For the governor-elect, Rt. Hon.Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, knows more than us, he is a committed and dedicated leader which is why Ebonyians have chosen him as the next governor of this State because he will perform well.
“So, by the special grace of God, he is going to perform beyond our expectations. He will continue from where Umahi stopped.
“Honestly, I am very happy for the appointment of Hon.Enekwachi Akpa as a commissioner because he is a hard working man, anyone that works so hard, deserves to be appreciated. I am happy for him. I know that he will do well.
On his part, the Ikwo Council boss, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo noted that Umahi had changed the narrative of the state by putting fantastic infrastructural development across the state which he said had impacted positively on the wellbeing of Ebonyians.
He also expressed optimism that the incoming Governor, Rt Hon.Nwifuru would consolidate on the achievements and legacies of Umahi.
“Umahi has fantastic achievements. In infrastructure, he has done well; in moral building, he has done well, and he has touched every aspect of our lives. As you can see, he has changed the narrative, the next administration shall focus on consolidation and continuity, which means, he will be building on the legacies already established, we expect higher accomplishments in the few months and years ahead.”
