Easter: Sen Ama Nnachi felicitates with Christians

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D, has felicitated with  Christians on the celebration of Easter urging them to reflect on the significance of the celebration by emulating the selflessness and sacrificial life of Jesus Christ.

Sen. Nnachi who gave the admonition in a message to his constituents, which was released by his Media office in Abakaliki, called on Christians to seize the opportunities the celebration afford to imbibe those virtues in which Christ was known for, which include, but not limited to humility, forgiveness, tolerance, good neighborliness, respect and empathy for others’ feelings as well as love for one another.

Senator Nnachi who is also the Vice Chairman, Senate Committees on Air Force and Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment, urged Christians to use the period as a time of sober reflection on the life and times of Christ and His selfless sacrifices.

He called on Nigerians, particularly Ebonyians to use the period to intensify prayers for the peace and security of the State and the country in general.

According to him, Easter is a very important event in the Christendom which marks the triumph of Jesus Christ over sin, adversity and death.

"As we celebrate this year's Easter, let us reflect on the life and times of Christ and His selfless sacrifices.

"Let's also remember that it is a time for meditation and sober reflections by imbibing those virtues of humility, forgiveness, tolerance, good neighborliness, respect,etc, that Jesus Christ is known for.

"On behalf of my family and the entire good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial district, I heartily rejoice with Nigerians particularly Christians on this auspicious occasion of the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

"And I pray that the joy associated with the celebration will be your portion. Happy Easter," Senator Nnachi, said.

Sen. Nnachi who seized the opportunity to comment on the just concluded elections said "no matter what the forces of evil may do, we shall at the end recover our mandate."

He enjoined his teeming supporters and the PDP faithfuls from Ebonyi South Senatorial district and beyond, to continue to keep hope alive and never allow what happened during the elections to weigh down their zealous spirit of victory.
