Ebonyi PDP guber candidate, Odii takes Campaign to Abakaliki Urban community, vows to abolish multiple taxations

The People's Democratic Party PDP governoship candidate in Ebonyi State Dr Ifeanyichukwu Odii has promised to address the issues of multiple taxations and intimidation of business people in the state by the state government if voted into office in 2023.

Odii who made the promise while  addressing a huge crowd of enthusiastic Abakaliki Urban community who came out in their thousands to show support for his ambition at Abakaliki LGA urban constituency rally in Abakaliki said his administration would reduce taxation on the people as well as return lands forcefully taken by the current administration without compensation.


The governoship candidate who acknowledged the
 contributions of Urban community to building the economy of the State maintained that his administration  would ensure the creation of necessary enabling environment for their businesses to prosper.



"Urban contributes majorly to the economy of the State, Urban people are hardworking people, but today, what we witness is the current government oppressing people in the Urban, but that time is coming to an end.

"what you suffered in the past eight years, will disappear forever, every land was taken away from any of you, by the special grace of God when we come into the office, we will return them to you.

"the time when Government will take something from people without compensating them duly has gone," he said.

He called on the people to support PDP at the march guber polls while promising to reduce taxation and run a people-oriented government that would take care of the needy, provide quality education, and creates wealth for Ebonyians.

"Our government would not be putting much taxation on the people, rather we are going to reduce tax and pay according to what you earn, our government would be very creative, we will have many ways to increase the IGR of the State, we have many ways to recreate the economy of the State without putting much taxation on the people," he added.




In a related development, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii has said that he would run an all-inclusive Government if elected Governor and enjoined the people to expect true transformation that would change the state from its current poverty level to prosperity.

Odii who stated this during a campaign rally at Indiofutu Amachi in  Abakaliki local government area of the State called on the people to vote for PDP at all levels for quality education, wealth creation, and a reform of the civil service system.


Speaking at the event, Dr. Sam Egwu, the former governor and a serving senator representing Ebonyi North, said members of the party had supported the Gubernatorial ticket to the north but AnyiChuks emerged as the Will of the supremacy of the party.

He said the PDP would not be violent to canvas for votes but to continue with persuasion and expressed confidence that they would emerge victorious at the polls while urging the people to support AnyiChuks for a better state for all.

Also speaking the national vice chairman of the party southeast, Chief Ali Odefa commended the campaign rally team for overcoming all sorts of intimidation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure smooth campaign activities.

He said AnyiChuks would guarantee good governance for the people and develop the State beyond its current state.

The wife of the guber candidate, Mrs. Ebele Odii urged the women to vote for him at the polls because of his passion to lift People's lives to a better standard.

The acting party chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie, commend the mobilization of supporters for the rally and described it as a display of evidence for winning the election in the State.

"What we are seeing here is a clear indication that our candidate has already won the election.

"The governor of this state has left for APC but we are going to deliver a man that would liberate the State from the suffering of APC.

Mr. Francis Alegu, the PDP chairman of Abakaliki LG, said they are fully motivated to vote for all PDP candidates 100 percent.

Others who spoke at the event include the director of the women's wing, Mrs. Vivian Chima, and Mrs. Frances Mbada, they called on the women to use their voter's cards wisely on election day by voting for credible candidates as paraded by the PDP.

"AnyiChuks is for a good health care system, better education, and job creation, let us all come out en mass to vote for him". she said.
