Amasiri/ Oso Edda crises: Sen. Nnachi visits warring villages, sues for peace

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Micheal Ama Nnachi has sued for peace  between the people of Amasiri in Afikpo North LGA and Oso Edda in Afikpo South LGA, following communal clash that engulfed the communities.
Sen. Nnachi who made the call when he visited Okporojo Edda, one of the warring villages, regretted the level of the crises which has led to the destruction of properties and loss of innocent lives.

He appealed to the feuding parties to embrace peace and  sheath their swords in the spirit of brotherliness.
He told communities that he was on a peace and unity mission  and charged them to continue to live as brothers.

While sympathizing the victims of the crises, sen. Ama Nnachi promised to raise a motion of urgent national importance at the floor of the Senate, to bring lasting solution to the problem and donated 1.5million naira to cushion the effect. 
Speaking during the visit, HRH Osuu Slyvester Oduko thanked Sen. Nnachi for visiting them to have first hand knowledge of what happened and to sympathise with them. 
Also speaking, one of the community leaders who is a retired Air Commander, Felix Udu reiterated the call for peace while thanking the Senator for coming to their rescue.

Sen. Ama Nnachi also revealed that he will visit Amasiri to extend the same message of peace.
