By Dave Ukah

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi has asked Nigerians to hold him responsible, if his administration doesn't impact positively on their lives and the economy of the nation

Obi who stated this during his campaign rally at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, stressed that the sufferings Nigerians were going through under the APC-led government was entirely unacceptable.

The LP Presidential candidate further emphasized that his administration would ensure policies that would favour the youths and women in the country.

According to him, this year's election, would de-emphasize religion, but focus on competence, credibility and performance in various sphere of influence.

He said: "This year's election is not going to be about religion. Let's not allow them to divide us again. It is nobody's turn, but your turn to take back your country.

"Am contesting this election as an Igbo man who is most qualified. People want to be President but they have not told you who they are
I will change this country; hold me responsible. This is a great country and there's no reason we are to be suffering. We don't want those who are stealing our money.

"Anybody that gives you money take it. It's your money. Take the money and reject them. I was the Governor of Anambra State and I never owned anybody. I left N75 billion naira.

"We want you to vote for human being. We want to take care of mama, papa and pikin. Hold me responsible, let's build a new Nigeria. This my Government will be for the youth and women. Mama papa, pikin."

Obi who was overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd that welcomed him during the rally and  town hall meeting with the Nigerian students  further assured  of the possibility of a new Nigeria in 2023.

He said in the past 20 years, Nigeria has been breeding insecurity, poverty, suffering, unemployment, electric grinding, ASUU strike, scarcity of potable water and countless drawbacks.

He assured that his administration if elected as Nigeria's President in 2023, would ensure that the country becomes a secured nation, promised massive employment for the youth and women, and to fight poverty by removing the country from consumption to production.

Obi, the former Governor of the Anambra State, also promised to end the ASUU strike and to make sure that all the graduates have a better livelihood under his watch. He vowed to uplift the infrastructural status of Ebonyi State better than the way he met it today.

While commending the efforts of the Ebonyi LP stakeholders towards the actualization of a new Nigeria under the platform of the party, Obi described the state governorship candidate of the party, Architect Edward Nkwegu (Edon) as a very wonderful figure.

He charged the students and other citizens of the state to massively vote for the Labour Party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections at their various polling units, and insisted that "a new Nigeria is possible to make everybody happy regardless of tribe, religion, colour or statue."
