Ebonyi Former ALGON Chair Distributes Motorcycles, Rice, Wrappers Others Items To Constituents






The Immediate Past Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Ebonyi State Chapter, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku has distributed 5 high powered motorcycles, over 400 bags of rice, cartons of tomatoes, bags of salt, wrappers, a cow and cash to Uhuotaru Ugwulangwu Ward as part of her phase 3 empowerment programme to the people of the area.

The colorful event which was graced by thousands of people from the ward was also used by the Senior Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor, Princess Iyioku to urge the people of the ward to continue to support the Senatorial ambition of the State Governor, Chief David Umahi.

Princess Iyioku also called on the people of the ward to support the ambition of the All Progressives Congress, House of Representatives candidate for Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo, (OHANAIVO), Federal Constituency, Hon Felix Igboke, the Governorship candidate of the party, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru and other candidates of the APC in the state.

The Former ALGON Chairman maintained that the empowerment programme is part of her desire and commitment in alleviating the suffering of the people of the area and make them self reliant adding that she was driven by her passion for the less privileged to have food on their table especially during festive period.

She noted that the distribution of the gift items and other empowerment programme has become a yearly ritual since the inception of her administration as a local government chairman adding that hundreds of people from the community has been empowered through her programme. 

The program which cuts across the 18 clans of the ward in Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state witnessed jubilation from the women, men and youths of the area who expressed their gratitude, love and joy to the former council boss.

The 5 selected beneficiaries in the  Empowerment Program, Phase Three includes, John Sunday, (Umuigboke), Chinagoro Nwankwo (Amaegbu), Ikechukwu Chikaodiri (Amata), Chinedu Chukwu (Nwafoaboeja) and Chikaodiri Nwakpa(Amaowo).

The beneficiaries who couldn't hold back their joy and gratitude assured Princess Iyioku of their determination to make judicious use of the motorcycle and promised to continue to work for the success of APC in the 2023 general election.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, Mr. John Sunday from  Umuigboke clan commended Princess Iyioku for her passion and zeal towards helping the needy and less privileged and urged her not to relent in empowering the people.

Speaking at the event, the APC Candidate for OHANAIVO, Hon. Felix Igboke assured the people that if elected in the forthcoming general election, he would embark on aggressive empowerment of the people.

The APC Candidate thereafter donated some amount of money to the ward in appreciation of the support towards his aspiration.

The Former Special Adviser to Princess Iyioku on media, Comrade Ode Peter while appreciating her thanked her for the love shown to the people of Amegbu clan adding that it was during her administration that Amegbu people produce a Councilor which he said was first of it's kind in the history of the people.

Comrade Peter assured the SSA of the readiness of the people of Amegbu especially the youths in ensuring victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in their respective polling units.

The event was graced by the House of Representatives Candidate for OHANAIVO Federal Constituency, Engr. Felix Igboke, Hon. Benson Igu Chikezie APC Candidates for Ohaozara East State Constituency among many other dignitaries. 

In support of the gesture of the former ALGON Chairman, the Councilor of Uhuotaru Ward, Hon Bishop Ikechukwu Igwe also donated 40 wrappers and an undisclosed amount of money to 40 widows in the ward. Ends.
