Sen. Ama Nnachi bags GLF award as best legislator of year

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D has been honoured by Great leaders forum, Students summit 2022 under the Students Union Government of Alex Ekwueme federal University Alike Ikwo, AE-FUNAI, as the best legislator of the year.

Conferring the award on him, the SUG President of AE- FUNAI, Prince Jerry Obasi said Sen. Nnachi was selected based on his delivery of constituency projects and empowerment interventions.

According to Obasi, Sen. Nnachi was honoured on account of his contributions to human capital development across the Constituency.

Obasi who extolled the sterling leadership qualities and excellent representation of Sen. Nnachi at the red chamber, said he had outperformed and surpassed the achievements of other  Senators in the state through numerous infrastructural development and empowerment programmes to his constituents.

"It's a meritorious award because he merits it. Why we are giving him this award as the best legislator of the year is that if you look at other Senators in Ebonyi state you will see that Senator Ama Nnachi is different because of the project he has done and other things he has done" . 

"When I came to Edda and other places in his constituency I realized that this man is a great man and a very good Senator that has the interest of the students at heart. I was discussing with my excos between Senator Ogba and Senator Ama Nnachi who deserves the award, then we all voted Senator Ama Nnachi", he said.

Responding, Sen. Nnachi who was represented during the presentation of the award by Engr Kalu Francis, zonal Ex-offio PDP South East expressed delight over the decision of the Union which he described as prestigious to honour him.

He promised not to relent in providing quality representation and empowerment programmes to his constituents.

He said apart from infrastructural development, he has through his numerous empowerment projects, trained and empowered youths across his constituency on ICT, Agriculture and various vocational skills with start-up packages, secured federal government jobs to the teaming unemployed youths of the senatorial zone. 
 
The occasion which featured seminars, panel discussion on leadership was held at the main auditorium of Alex Ekwueme federal University Alike Ikwo, with the theme: "Agents of change", attracted a large crowd of students, academicians and politicians.
