All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi federal constituency, Ebonyi State, Chief Emmanuel Uguru, has promised to offer effective and efficient representation by attracting dividends of democracy to his constituents if elected in 2023 general election.
Uguru who stated this in Abakaliki, the state capital during the ongoing media parley organized by Correspondent Chaple of the NUJ in the state assured of constant and periodic interraction with his constituents.
"What I will do differently is I understand in my little way that legislation has a lot to do with interraction. People go on campaign, they come out. You only hear about them by the time they are asking for votes again. It can never be the same thing with me.
"There should periodic meeting with constituents to get their views and needs. This is what will happen under my tenure as a legislator
On the issue of Kindred dicotomy in Izzi clan, the former ALGON Chairman described as imaginary the believe that the people of Izzi were divided along kindred and political lines and that it will affect the chances of Izzi of producing the next governor of the state in 2023.
He said that unpopular politicians are preaching kindred dicotomy in Izzi clan in the state to curry sympathy.
He also said that unscrupulous elements were behind the alleged threat against none indigenes that the none indigenes will lose their properties if an Izzi man becomes the governor of the state in 2023.
"This is the first election an Izzi man will go almost 90 percent one way
"It is an imaginary issue, 100 percent imaginary. The moment you are unpopular, you bring out issue of kindred dicotomy and you begin to pretend that you are looking for your own people. In the National Assembly, the two kindreds in Izzi are there", he said.
"Out of 12, there must be Judas but to what extent has Judas succeeded? That does not represent the opinion of Izzi people, it does not. If it did, that thing they wanted to do, they would have succeded.
"That issue should be disregarded, it shouldn't be what anybody should hold on. My advice is should anybody come to takeover your property, use legal means, don't go fighting the person. One of the best way to handle any threat of losing your property by anyone, you can report to me. My legislative work has started even before I win, it has started". ENDS
