Ahead of the March 11, 2023 governoship elections in Ebonyi state, the PDP gubernatorial candidate Dr Ifeanyichukwu Odii has pledged to tackle insecurity plugging the state.
Odii who stated this in Abakaliki during the 25 years anniversary Celebration/Dedication of the Emmanuel Anglican Church of Abakaliki Diocese said he will be deploying new technology to replace the Ebubeagu Security outfit in the state.
Odii, who received the “award of excellence leadership and. humanitarian services" from the church further stated that he would strenghten his scholarship scheme in the 13 local government areas of the state and bring smiles to the faces of the citizens.
He assured peaceful co-existence among the people, saying that under his watch as governor there would be free basic education and robust treatment for civil servants in the state.
"As a governor, there will be peace in the land, there will be love among us, and our children will have access to free education.
"As a governor, the civil servants will go home smiling when the month ends. As a governor, I will deploy technology to replace Ebubeagu to tackle insecurity.
"I have made these promises, and I will like you to check my pedigree, check my life and that will tell you what I will do for Ebonyi people," Odii aaid.
The Governorship Candidate further commended the Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Rev Monday Nkwoagu and his members for the award.
He assured that he was ready to use his resources to give hope to the people, especially the downtrodden.
"I have built eight churches including an Anglican church in the state, stressing that his indiscriminate life had made him freely give out to individuals and different organisations without tracing their backgrounds," he added..
The Bishop, Nkwoagu said Odii was nominated for the award because of his contributions to the development of society and churches.
"We recognise his humanitarian services within and outside Ebonyi State," the Bidhop added.
The National Vice Chairman of the PDP, Southeast region, Dr Ali Odefa, said, while reciting Odii's citation, the Governorship candidate is a businessman and philanthropist with vast experience spanning over 22 years.
"Odi has built over 130 homes for the indigents in the rural areas with eight churches, primary and secondary schools in the state, amongst others," he said.
