Sen. Ama Nnachi hails Nigeria at 62, Ebonyi at 26

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D, has congratulated Nigerians on the Country's 62nd Independence Anniversary with a call to Nigerians to continue to maintain the unity, faith and hope preached by our Nation's founding fathers.

in Abakaliki, also congratulated Ebonyi people on the 26th Anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State.

The Senator who seized the occasion to call for oneness, acknowledged that the Country is passing through numerous challenges, but expressed optimism that Nigerians will overcome the hard times.

Senator Nnachi who is also the Vice Chairman, Senate Committees on Air Force and Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment, urged Nigerians to continue to dedicate themselves to the service of the Nation.

While paying glowing tributes to the  founding fathers of Nigeria and Ebonyi, Senator Nnachi  enjoined Nigerians and Ebonyians to continue to keep hope alive and never allow the challenges confronting them individually and collectively as a people, to weigh them down.

"Irrespective of our daunting challenges and circumstances surrounding us, there are still reasons to celebrate this year's Nigeria Independence @62 and Ebonyi State @26." 

"I most profoundly appreciate the heroes of Nigeria Independence and the founding fathers of Ebonyi State for their patriotism, resilience, passion, love, commitment, sacrifices and leadership ingenuities that watered the ground for what we celebrate today."

To Ebonyi people, he particularly encouraged them to continue to remain peaceful and united and shun acts capable of plunging the state into crisis.

"Dear Ebonyians, as we mark our 26years of existence, let's always remember that what holds us together is far beyond what would tear us apart. As lovers of our dear state, we must continue to preach peace, propagate love, unity, exhibit the spirit of patriotism and play our roles as citizens. We must shun acts capable of plunging our state into crisis. Looking back from where we were before the creation of Ebonyi by Late Sani Abacha, we can proudly say that we are indeed progressing..."

He also used the opportunity to reassure his constituents of his commitment towards providing quality representation, adding that he would continue to be a strong voice on the floor of the Senate and won't relent in attracting dividends of democracy to them.

"As we celebrate  this auspicious occasion, let me reassure my constituents and Nigerians in general of my resolve to work with other leaders, in offering quality representation and building a better Nigeria of our dream

"We thank God for the journey so far. Irrespective of all our challenges, the Nigerian spirit of resilience will carry us on", he said. 

On the 2023 general elections, he called on the Nigerian people, particular Ebonyi people, to get ready to exercise their franchise, even as he enjoined them to critically assess the past records and antecedents of the people seeking their votes in order to make informed choices.
