The Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service in Ebonyi State says it would continue to partner with the police and other security agencies to fight against crimes and criminality.
The State commander, Mr Lary Igwe said the agency was established to compliment the effort of the police and other security agents in combating crime, noting thier previous collaborations.
Igwe, who stated this while visiting the
the Police Area Commander in Afikpo North Local Government Area, Mr. Stanley Egbo, explained that members of the body have been operating and collaborating with police at national, state and local levels across the country and wondered why the recent pronouncement and banning of NHFSS activities and operation in Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State.
According to Igwe, "the bill to establish NHFSS has passed both green and red chambers of the National assembly and waiting for the assent of the president Muhammadu Buhari".
He maintained that the body is apolitical, and called on the Afikpo North council chairman to embrace it and join in the recruitment of men with good character who would serve the people.
"NHFESS have come to serve the people and every government in power to ensure that peace returns in every nook and cranny of the country". Igwe said.
Meanwhile, the Afikpo North Police area commander, Mr. Stanley Egbo commended the NHFESS for thier contributions to security across the Country and described security as everyone's business.
Egbo equally called on members of the public to assist the security agencies with relevant information to help fight against criminality.
The familiarization visit is scheduled to go across the 13 local government areas In the state to sensitize the people on the activities of NHFESS.
