2023: Why Ebonyi Need Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii As Governor

By Joshua  Elekwachi

With the commencement of campaign today for the Governorship and State assembly's election for the 2023 general election, the wave that will bring about the next crop of Governor's and members of the states houses of assembly have been launched officially to fly.

Many of the states are in yearn of a change of leadership and desperately in want of a Governor that can serve their interest. Ebonyi state is one those states in a desperate need of a purposeful driven Governor. A Governor that is humane, people's choice and understands the rudiments of goveranance.

Ebonyi state is one of such states that wants a Governor that can remedy the issue of communal clashes that has lingered for years thus devasted communities. A Governor that will take responsibility and provide ultimate solution to unemployment and bring reformation of  the civil service with the understanding that the civil servants nay civil service is the engine room of government and without it's bearing, they will be no productivity and off course that is the situation of Ebonyi State civil service today.

A Governor that will not tolerate poverty because unfortunately today, Ebonyi state tops the chart as the third state with poverty rate according to a recent report from BudgIT. Another report from the National Bureau of statics (NBS) indicated that in the ratio of ten(10) persons, seven out of the ten is without a social or economic address therefore is adversely poor.

According to a report from the Debt Management office(DMO) the debt profile of the state has risen to about $64 million (41.6billion) because the government of the day have continued to patronize frivolities that contributes nothing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state. This is indeed  worrisome, and why Ebonyi state need Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu as the Governor and Deputy Governor respectively come 2023.

Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii a renowned entrepreneur with his running mate, Distinguished Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu who has an expanded experience in public service has all the charisma and qualities needed to rewrite the wrongs and put the state on a path of Progressive development. A man who has privately managed his businesses into success no doubt when entrusted with Governorship role of Ebonyi State will harness the potentials of the state into productivity. Grow her IGR from the current insignificant amount because with his business background, he understands to grow an IGR you have to increase productivity and means of cash inflow both through the informal and formal sector, reduce arbitrary taxations, encourage local contents, localise trade of Agricultural products, create access to farms and rural markets.

The ODII/NWAGU CANDIDACY is the only ticket that can pull the people of Ebonyi State out of poverty. It's time to give poverty a quick notice in Ebonyi State. A state richly blessed like Ebonyi State shouldn't be listed among the poorest states in Nigeria. The people of Ebonyi state are the most hardworking people in the Southeast Region, it's an error to be rated as the poorest state in the Southeast.
Poverty is not something to be proud of, 2023 present to us another golden opportunity to decide Our destiny, and the destiny of our unborn Children. Our destiny is in Our hands. We must not again allow career politicians whose only interest to seize power is to corner public funds to selves to deceive us as the campaign starts today with their sophistry. The bleeding nature of the health care , education, agriculture, and overall poor goveranance in the state should guide our perception in maintaining our choice of Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.

Ebonyi needs Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and his resourceful running mate, Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu to stir the ship of leadership in the state come 2023 and should not make a mistake of missing this golden opportunity.
