The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State, Dr Ifeanyichukwu Odii, says efforts are on going to reconcile with aggrieved party members ahead of the 2023 general elections

Odii who disclosed this in Abakaliki while speaking with journalists shortly after a crucial meeting with some stakeholders, said he has been reaching out to the aggrieved party members.

“I’m reaching out to all PDP members from house to house, contacting them and showing them the reasons to work together and reclaim Ebonyi, because it belongs to PDP.”

"Reconciling all aggrieved members of the party after the primary elections is key",  pointing out that doing so would help in achieving victory at the forthcoming elections.

Odii, who was few weeks ago declared the authentic
governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state for 2023 general election by the Supreme Court after said the  judgement was final.

Odii, also reacted to an allegation making the rounds in the state, that the Supreme Court did not rule on the main pending appeal suit that existed between him (Odii) and Senator Obinna Ogba, noting that the Apex Court cannot reverse itself after giving judgement on a matter as he remains the authentic gubernatorial candidate of PDP in the state.

Recall that Senator Obinna Ogba had while addressing his supporters in his campaign office in Abakaliki, last Sunday, said there was still a pending case in the Supreme Court over the ticket of the party for the governorship position in the State.

Odii stated: “It is our collective victory at the Supreme Court. It is a victory for Ebonyi people and a victory for all the members of the PDP family. Now, we have gotten the victory, we are going to work very hard to ensure that we win in the next general election.

He further added: “The Supreme Court is the apex court in Nigeria and I doubt that in the history of Nigeria, you can’t force a court to do otherwise, whenever they have given a judgement, there is no going back.

“It’s possible that my emergence is putting fear on some people, it’s not me saying it, but that may be the general perception.

“I’m not coming to be a governor of Ohaozara people, Onicha LGA or Izzi people, but a governor for Ebonyi State at large,” he stated.END//
