Ebonyi to hold LG election on 30th July

The  Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC has fixed 30th July 2022 for Local Government and councillorship elections in the state.

The Chairman of the commission  Mr Jossy Eze disclosed this during a meeting with representatives of political parties, security agencies and other stakeholders in Abakaliki


He said the meeting was to inform political parties of the slight change of date of the election  from 23rd July to 30th July 2022.

He assured all the political parties of free, fair and credible process during the exercise.
                 
The Special Assistant to the Governor on   Inter-Party and Labour matters  comrade Mrs Jennifer O. Adibe-Nwafor who called all political parties to play by the rules and guidelines  assured of a free contest and level playing ground of all parties participating in the election


”We will be fair to all parties; we will ensure a leveled playing ground is provided for all of them , No political parties will be shortchanged 

She explained that the meeting has availed the political leaders the opportunities to know that the commission will be fair to all political parties.

Some of the political parties executives who commended the commission for the meeting  appealed for the reduction in cost of forms to enable them participate effectively as well as fairness in the process.

They emphasized that their members are ready to participate and  clinch the chairmanship and councillorship positions in the state.
