Distinguished Sen. Michael Ama Nnachi. Ph.D, FNIQS,FCArb, FIMC, RQS, CMC, MEMAN who represents the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate have been honoured by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Correspondents'chapel Ebonyi State for Legislative impact in recognition of his outstanding performance at the National Assembly.
This honour was confered on him during the grand finale of the chapel's 2022 Press week held at San Diego Hotels, Abakaliki.
Sen. Nnachi was represented by Hon Linus Nkama during the epoch event.
Senator Nnachi is a seasoned politician, a quantity Surveyor, a Project Consultant who has brought his wealth of experience in the restructuring and making of laws in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he has initiated Bills, with some already passed.
Indeed, the action Senator has shown enormous legislative acumen at the red chamber, even as a first timer and has displayed unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people and infrastrural development to the district.
He has attracted many projects to his Constituency
which include roads construction with street lights, Water project, construction of School building and skill Acquisition center, hospital projects, etc,
Senator Nnachi through his numerous empowerment projects, has trained and empowered youths across his constituency on ICT with start up packages, secured federal government jobs to the teaming unemployed youths of his senatorial zone,
Sen. Nnachi, through his professional and technocratic experience is serving in the 9th Senate at the National Assembly as the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Airforce and Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment Programme and a member of Senate Committee on; Appropriation, Anti-Corruption & Financial Crimes, Capital Market, Environment, Finance, Federal Character & Inter-Governmental Affair, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, Public Accounts and Solid Minerals, Steel Development & Metallurgy.
He is also a representative of the Senate at the Africa, Caribbean, Pacific and European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly (ACP-EU-JPA) and Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Parliamentary Assembly.
Sen. Nnachi holds a B.SC in Quantity Surveying, M.SC in Environmental Management and Ph.D in Environmental Management, with over 5 publications to his credit.
He has also attended numerous certificate awarding conferences and International Institutes which include; London School of Economics (LSE), Retreat on Financial Reporting Governance for Senate Public Account Committee in Dubai, Institute of Management Consultant - CMC Certification and Northwind Global Consult – Anti Corruption & Criminal Justice Reform Certificate to mention but a few.
He holds membership and fellowship attainment in several prestigious national and International professional bodies amongst which are; Fellow Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS), Fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria (FCArb), Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria, Fellow - Institute of Corporate Administrators of Nigeria, Member Environmental Management Association of Nigeria(MEMAN) and a Registered Quantity Surveyor (RQS).
He is also member of African Peer Review Mechanism National Working Group (APRM-NWG), Board Member of Quantity Surveyors Academy, and a member of the accreditation panel that accredited the Quantity Surveying Department of Fed. Uni. Of Tech. Minna and other tertiary institutions.
His philanthropic purpose-driven initiatives and selfless service to humanity has won him recognition with several deserving awards by different bodies/organizations; Award of Excellence by Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Nigeria, Icon of Human Capital Development – NPWYD, Episcopal Award of Excellence in Leadership, Zenith Achievers International Merit Award, African International Merit Award and Impact Builder Personality Award to mention but a few.
He holds many chieftaincy titles including IKE EDDA which means "The Pillar of strength for his People".
Distinguished Nnachi has really proved to be a true Representative to the people of Ebonyi South Senatorial district. And given the magnitude of projects and empowerment programmes carried out by the people's Senator in just three years , it is therefore obvious that a second term at the Senate is necessary and expedient, after all, one good turn they say deserves another
