Ebonyi state governor, Chief David Umahi and a non-governmental organization under the eagis of 'Bloom Public Health' has signed a memorandum of understanding, MoU, to revitalize all the collapsed general hospitals located in the 13 Local government areas of the state.
The governor who spoke during the signing of the MoU, that took place at the new government house, centinary city Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi state said the people of the state will have a good access to quality health care service delivery.
Earlier in a remark, the CEO of Bloom Public Health, Prof. Chimezie Anyakora stated that the DRF project in Ebonyi State will ensure the provision of sustainable access to quality and affordable essential medicines as a critical element in implementing primary health care.
He stated that the project was in line with Bloom Public Health’s vision of bridging the gap in public health in
Africa and creating a continent where access and quality of care are affordable to all in a sustainable way and that the company is eagerly looking forward to scaling the project across the
continent.
According to him, 'Bloom Public Health is a professional services firm providing public health supply chain and policy advisory solutions internationally' and also 'develops and provides various innovative health related services to individuals, households, and
corporations, within and outside Nigeria.
Prof. Anyakora noted further that: "Zipline is an aerial logistics company which deploys autonomous drones to deliver essential medical supplies to hard-to-reach areas in Nigeria and several other countries.
He noted further that the Ebonyi State Government seeks to ensure the sustainable access and availability of safe, quality, and affordable medicines and medicinal products to all residents of the State in all its health facilities.
"To achieve this goal, the Ebonyi State Government has partnered with the consortium led by Bloom Public Health to implement an innovative healthcare supply chain system in Ebonyi State that will leverage cutting edge technology to centrally procure, store, manage, provide last mile distribution of pharmaceutical and other medical products to healthcare facilities across the State and ensure revenue optimization for the State by digitization of its healthcare facilities" he stressed.
