A formost Senatorial aspirant under the plateform of People's Democratic Party, PDP Mr. Kelvin Chukwu has promised to give more attention to youth development and capacity building Programmes if elected as Senator
Mr Chukwu who is seeking to represent the people of Ebonyi Central zone in the National Assembly made the declaration while speaking with journalists in Abakaliki during the enlarged stakeholders / SEC meeting of PDP.
According to him: "I have declared my intention to run for senate to represent Ebonyi Central senatorial zone in the national assembly. My intention to become a senator is to enable me bring in youths into governance and to get them out of political impoverishment that they are in.
"I have done so much for my people, and I want to bring more human capacity development to them. I constructed boreholes, graded roads, registered WAEC for indigent youths and many other assistance.
"We have lots of bigwigs that are contesting for senate in Ebonyi Central senatorial zone, but I believe that power belongs to God and I have to give it a trial. It's time for the bigwigs to give the youths the chance to takeover governance.
"They have stayed long in the corridors of power, it's time for them to rest and allowed we the youths to takeover power and takecare of them.
The Senatorial hopeful who maintained that the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in the state, only existed in Ebonyi government house said that they don't have the capacity to win election, especially in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
"In Ebonyi, there is no other political party except the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. PDP is everywhere and we only have APC in government house. There is no way APC will win PDP in the forthcoming 2023 general election, it's impossible.
"Elections are prone to crisis. And there will be pokes of crisis here and there. 80% (percent) of crisis that are being caused is by the youths. And if you have people like us who are youths, and what will do is to control our fellowship and we will do all within our capacity to make sure that they didn't participates in the crisis" he stated.
