PDP calls for disbandment of Ebubeagu Security outfit in Ebonyi... issues 14 days ultimatum to state government

The People's Democratic Party, PDP,  Ebonyi State chapter has called on   Governor David Umahi, and Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Aliyu Garba, to disband the ebubeagu security network in the state.

The State Party Chairman, Hon. Tochukwu Okorie,  who made the call in Abakaliki at a Press conference marking the first Executive Council Meeting of the newly elected officials of the party in the State said the aim of establishing the security network in southeast has been defeated,
gave a fourteen day ultimatum to it's effect.



Okorie who gave a fourteen day ultimatum to it's effect condemned  the continued attack on the lives and properties of Ebonyi people and residents by the so called ebubeagu security network personnel.
 
"we are very disenchanted as a political party with the way things have gone so far in the state under the leadership of APC led Government, 

"we condem in the strongest terms, the continued attack on the lives and properties of Ebonyi people and residents by the so called ebubeagu security network personell,

"a gang we have considered to call political thug, and that is what they truly are, it is no more news that they draw inspiration from the state government  to Carry out thier dastardly act, to kill, to destroy, extort and to inflict undue reasoning to the psychology of the people in the state.


"We call on the Governor and the Ebonyi State Police Commissioner to immediately disband these band of terrorists since the aim of establishing it by the southeast governor's forum has been defeated, reason it is only in Ebonyi State that it exists among all the five states in the southeast." He said.

The State Party chairman who decried the high level of insecurity in the state charged the Government to raise up to thier responsibilities of protecting the lives and properties of thier people.


"Ebonyi State is riddled with Crisis from all quarters, with Ebonyi State Government doing nothing tangible to  ensure that hostilities and killings are knit in the board, 


"we charge the government to raise to it's responsibility of protecting lives and properties of Ebonyi State people and residents,".

He also appealed to the people of Effium and Ezza Effium "to cease fire and give peace a chance to thrive in their community as they have cohabited over the years and did things in common,".


He also charged the Government and the security agencies to unravel the cause and whereabouts of the five Nilan consultants working on the African Development Bank Abakaliki Ring road project, who were reported to have disappeared from the war turned Effium community of Ohaukwu Local Government area of the state, while supervising the road project.

"We urge the concern parties, to  put effort into ensuring that they are released unhurt, if they are still alive,". He added.


Meanwhile, the Senator representing Ebonyi central senatorial District, Senator Obinna Ogba, has donated over seventeen vehicles to the new executive's of the the party across the thirteen LGAs.

Senator Ogba while presenting the vehicles in Abakaliki said it's his gesture as a good party man, to boost the morale of members towards reclaiming power in the state at the 2023 gubernatorial  elections.
