The newly elected chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP in Ebonyi State, Mr Okoraofor Tochukwu Okorie, has assured party members of inclusive leadership to give them a sense of belonging and enable them to contribute their quotas to the development of the Party
Okorie who gave the assurance in a statement released in Abakaliki and signed by Dr. David Ogbonna said he has extended his hand of fellowship to his fellow contestants in the just concluded State Congress and called on them to sheath their swords in the greater interest of the party.
He thanked Mr. Silas Onu, Mr. Amos Ogbonnaya and Chief Irem Ibom for helping to ensure the integrity of the process while also praising them for their gallantry and strong contributions to the growth of the state chapter.
He said as regarding the congress there is no victor and there is no vanquished. He assured the contestants of a place in the new dispensation.
The Chairman also promised to work with all stakeholders to rebuild and re-energize the party in the state to recover the people’s mandate surreptitiously stolen by the APC come 2023.
He thanked the leaders and elders of the party in the state for conducting a peaceful congress against the expectations of mischief makers who had attempted to sow discord in the party prior to the congress.
He further congratulated all members of the newly elected Ward, Local Government and State Executive Committees of the Party and tasked them on the challenges ahead.
Part of the statement read, “we want to take the opportunity to reiterate that the party can no longer be bullied or intimidated as we are prepared to do everything within the confines of the law to protect the interest of our party.”
While commiserating with the families who lost their loved ones in the recent gun attacks in Ebonyi, Okorie said “We are resolute in our determination to take back the state for the good people of Ebonyi come 2023. We have a duty to return the state to the paths of prosperity, peace progress and stem the tide of hunger and blood letting which has been on the rise in the State.
