Sen. Nnachi Doles out N100,000 To Victim Of Commissioner's Brutality In Abakaliki

The Senator Representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi,Ph.D, has in a spirit of compassion for his constituents, donates a Cash sum of One hundred thousand naira to support one Mrs Agatha Nnanna Ukpai.

Agatha, a food vendor from Owutu Edda in Afikpo south local Government Area Area of Ebonyi State and others, were allegedly  assulted on Friday last week by the State's Commissioner for Capital City and Urban Development, Barrister Onyekachi Nwaebonyi in Abakaliki.

Agatha  a mother of six children, had her cooked food thrown into a gutter by the Commissioner and his boys, other traders and drivers in Obodo Park last week also counted scores of loss of food stuffs and other properties worth thousands of Naira.


While presenting the money to the victim, Deaconess Emerald Udeakaji, who represented the Senator, said the gesture is to further demonstrate Senator Nnachi's commitment to the welfare of his constituents and described him as a righteous leader who derives joy in the good of his people.

"The Bible says when a righteous man is on the throne, the people rejoice, and our Distinguished Senator Ama happens to be one of the righteous Men, 



"because when he saw what happened to her on social media, he was amazed and said he would not allow such evil to happen to his constituent unattended, 

"The Senator has sent us to wipe her tears away and said she should cry no more, because he is a good leader, he has sent us with the sum of one hundred thousand naira to help her start up her business again."... she said.

Also speaking, Engr Kalu Francis O, an ex-officio of the People's Democratic Party PDP in South East,  described Nwaebonyi's actions as barbaric and said that people's rights and properties need to be respected and protected in a civilized society.

"We are saying that people should learn to be civilized, this Woman has six children, she's the bread winner of her family with her business, and she was thrown away on the streets like nothing happened, he said.

"We are not barbarians, we are not tribesmen, we are citizens and because we are citizens, that is why our Senator Dr Michael Ama Nnachi,  sent us to come and wipe off her tears" he added


The victim, Mrs Agatha Nnanna Ukpai, who also recalled her ordeal and regretted that she has never heard or seen Nwaebonyi until  the day he came and unleashed mayhem on her and others, she thanked  Senator Ama Nnachi and his family for wiping her tears away and prayed to God for continuous blessings on his works for his constituents at the National Assembly.
