Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has condoled the family of Mr. Celestine Okah on the death of their wife and mother, late Engineer Uchechi Okah describing her death as one too many.
Late Mrs. Uchechi Okah was until her death the Honourable Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Housing.
Governor Umahi stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the family at their residence in Abakaliki.
He described the late Commissioner as a dependable ally in the success story of his administration and announced that a street at the David Nweze Umahi College of Medical Sciences, Uburu would be named after her as a way of immortalizing her.
"There are things that are beyond words, I don't know how to begin to talk about Engineer Uche, who was like my daughter, who was one of the icons of our Administration, I can call her an intervener.
“Without Uche and Chioma, we wouldn't have realized the ring road project, this is a fact, and so, we miss her but her legacies will live on, so we urge you to be strengthened in your heart."
He promised that the Government would continue to assist the family within the limit of available resources to assuage the difficulties occasioned by her uneventful departure.
The husband of the deceased, Mr. Celestine Okah commended Governor Umahi for his continued support to the family even during the period of her sickness and prayed to God to bless him.
"Your Excellency, this family has been supportive, this family has no grudges, you picked us from the ground, you picked us from the dustbin and gave us a name and we are grateful.
“Your Excellency, even though she is late but I want to thank God for the legacies she left, if what was required was Doctors to rescue her life, your Excellency you did your best but we agree it was the time to go and so we want to thank you, your Excellency and your Exco for your support"
