The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch A Stream II members posted to Ebonyi state have concluded their three weeks orientation course.
The corps members have been in camp for the past three weeks where they underwent various trainings and orientation to prepare them for the one year service to their fatherland.
The closing ceremony took place at the Old Macgregor College Permanent Orientation Camp Afikpo on Monday.
Addressing the Corps Members at the event, the State Coordinator, Mercy Bamai Dawuda commended the Corps members for displaying high sense of discipline, commitment, dedication to duty and te spirit though out the duration of the orientation period.
She said that a total of 1559 corps members passed out of the camp and were posted to the 13 local government areas for their Primary Assignment.
According to her, the posting was done in adherence to the Corps' posting policy of posting members to four critical sectors which include rural infrastructure, health, education and agriculture.
The state coordinator revealed that 80 percent of the corps members were posted to schools with emphasis on rural posting where their services are needed most.
She expressed the hope that the corps members will discharge their duties with diligence and selflessness.
Mrs Bamai charged the corps members to be good ambassadors of the Scheme by shunning all acts that will bring the name of the scheme to disrepute.
She urged the corps members to accept their posting in good fate.
"As you leave camo today, I urge you to settle down quickly in your place of primary assignment, integrate with your host community for the Igbos are hospitable", she said.
She also charged them to endeavor to leave the state better than they met it by contributing their own quota towards it's development.
Mrs Bamai also warned them to be vanguards against all forms of social vices and acts that can lead to the destruction of the country.
The corps members, who were trained in various skills while in camp, were advised by the Coordinator to take the post camp training serious so as to enable them perfect the skills they have been exposed to while in the camp.
