The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D, over the weekend, inspected some on-going projects he attracted to his constituency to ascertain the level of progress.
One of the projects is the multi million naira water project in Itim Edda, Afikpo South LGA.
Senator Ama Nnachi who was visibly happy expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work going-on at the site
He was assured by the Engineers in charge of the project, that the water project would be completed as planned.
The project when completed will ease the perennial water problem affecting the people of lower Edda.
Some of the stakeholders like Sir George Ukpai and Hon Ekuma Ogbonnaya who expressed happiness over the project, described it as a signature project and the first of its kind in Edda history.
"My name is Hon Ekuma U. Ogbonnaya. My heart is filled with joy and happiness for this kind of project. We have never seen it before, in fact, we are very happy for our son, Distinguished Senator Michael Ama Nnachi for attracting this project to the people of Edda, not only Itim Edda, because if this project is completed it will give the people of Owutu water and the rest of Edda people. I'm so happy and glad."
"My name is Chief George Ukpai. This is a signature project and the first of its kind in Edda history and it's a project that have come up at no better time than now . Edda has been suffering perennial water supply and I think the Senator who has attracted this project has set to solve this perennial water problems in the whole of Edda.
"From what I have seen here, the project is so gigantic and I believe the project can supply water to the whole of Edda without fear of any contradiction. The whole of Edda from the point of Ufuku hill will get water without any hindrance.
I'm saying that we never made any mistake voting Senator Michael Ama Nnachi. Being a signature project, we are prepared for him to return to the Senate. We are sure more of this project will come up, I congratulate him".
