Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has officially registered with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing APC registration and revalidation exercise
Umahi who registered along with his younger brother and former National Vice Chairman of PDP Austin Umahi at their Umunaga Ward in Uburu, Ohaozara LGA insisted that the South East zone is now All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the state is targeting over N1million registered members.
The governor commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of the APC for the opportunity granted to some eminent Nigerians to be part of the Government of the centre through the ongoing APC Registration and revalidation exercise.
He noted that the party would completely take over the zone by 2023 adding that the developmental strides of President Muhammadu Buhari has endeared him to the people of the zone.
He, however, warned opposition elements to desist from constituting Security threats through making provocative statements and circulating fake videos of events that never took place in the state as such act is capable of igniting problem in the country.
He said that those attacking his person in the social media and sponsoring media report against his government are exhibiting acts of frustration.
He maintained that his administration will not be deterred by the negative activities of opposition elements as it is committed to bequeathing enduring legacies for generations of Ebonyi people.
He said the South East Zone has started reaping the dividends of connecting to the centre and announced that the Federal Government has already approved the sum of 6 billion naira for the commencement of production of limestone granules to support the fertilizer plants and another 400 million naira for empirical evaluation of salt deposit in the State for production of table salt and for commercial uses.
The Chairman of the APC State Registration and revalidation Committee, Chima Uzo Onyekwere who thanked Ebonyi State Government for the support to the Committee expressed hope that the exercise will launch the State to the upstream of governance.
