Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State chapter of PDP has described the purported election as illegal and a contempt of court.
The party in a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary PDP Ebonyi State Chapter Barr. Silas Joseph Onu, titled "Impersonation and contempt of the order of the Federal high court by Mr Michael Anyim" described the purported election of IPAC as a kangaroo
The Statement reads:"Our attention has just been drawn to the contemptuous activities of INEC in Ebonyi State, together with elements of the APC who now openly and shamelessly parade themselves as members of the People's Democratic Party"
"This is happening at a kangaroo IPAC election in Abakaliki wherein Mr. Micheal Anyim, the removed officer of the party, has misrepresented himself as the State Organising Secretary of the PDP and therein representing the State PDP Chairman".
"Let it be known to all that neither Chief Fred Udeogu in his capacity as State Chairman of the PDP nor any other member of the PDP State Executive is attending the purported IPAC election".
"It is a disgrace that even after INEC was duly notified of the explicit Court Order, they still went ahead to commit the crime of contempt without regard for decency or order".
"This, once again, point directly at the desperate bid to create a problem where non exist and then later will look for whom to arrest. The continuous attack on the integrity of the PDP is a recipe for crisis and they know it very well".
"We call on the State Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest and prosecute this impersonator as he has no immunity from criminal prosecution. Also, the DSS has to take responsibility for checkmating this rising criminal activity as impersonation is one of the most heinous crimes of all".
"We have incontrovertible proof of Mr. Michael Anyim in that meeting where he openly claimed to be the Organising Secretary of the PDP in Ebonyi State".
"The PDP Ebonyi State will pursue this contemptuous act to its logical conclusion and Mr. Michael Anyim must explain to the Court where he got the authority to declare himself the Organising Secretary of PDP in Ebonyi State and why he should not be committed to prison for such an impersonation. This is politics taken too far and now directly undermining the authority of our Courts".
"INEC is no less complicit in this atrocious act and must also face the consequences of acting in defiance of a clear Court Order".
"Finally, the good people of Ebonyi State are called upon to disregard any purported election of IPAC as we know the authentic leadership of this organization. The so called election is one planned and executed from the Governor's office, not IPAC".
