Profile of Mrs. CLARA IJEOMA NNACHI, FCTI, 6th Chairman, Abuja & District Society of CITN




Mrs. Clara Ijeoma Nnachi, fondly known as “Lolo”, was born on 18th December, 1980. She hails from Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. By marriage (in 2002), she became an indigene of Afikpo South (Edda) Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. 
She attended Ogbor-Hill Primary School, Aba, Abia State from 1986 - 1991 where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. She had her Secondary Education at the prestigious Mercy Girls Secondary School, Aba, Abia State, from 1992 – 1998, and obtained her Secondary School Certificate. 
Young Clara was admitted into the University of Abuja in 1998, from where she graduated in 2002 with B.Sc. (Honours) in Accounting. 
While in the University, Clara engaged in extra-curricular activities such as sports – played basket-ball, modelling for the FCT Council for Arts and Culture to showcase Nigerian’s rich apparels during their annual cultural festivals and also for a few other Clothing Lines in Abuja. She won the 2001 Best Dressed Accounting Student in University of Abuja and was the 2019 First Runner-up in the University of Abuja Beauty Pageant. She was also a Class Representative at different times and the 2000/2001 Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students Association (NUASA), University of Abuja Chapter. 


Upon the completion of her University Education, Clara Ijeoma Nnachi was posted to the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, where she first learnt about the fundamentals of the Public Service. In her inveterate search for knowledge and career advancement, she proceeded during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year with the Professional Examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
In 2005, Lolo joined the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as Accountant II on Grade Level 08 working in the Finance and Accounts Department. She continued steadfastly with the ICAN Professional Examination, combining it with motherhood and at the same time a Public Servant, a no mean feat for a young married woman. 

In 2007, the Almighty God crowned her efforts with success, and she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. She was immediately upgraded to a Senior Accountant on Grade Level 10 giving her a quantum leap as a career Public Servant.
Clara joined the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, (ACFE) Texas, USA as an Associate in 2009. A year after, in 2010 she proceeded for a Master’s Degree Programme in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ), at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Mrs. Nnachi became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in 2011 and immediately joined the Abuja & District Society of the CITN. In 2012, she sat for and passed the qualifying Examinations of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Texas, USA and became a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is today a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). However, not resting on her oars and in the quest for further self-development, she registered for the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Examination programme, an International/United States based Certification where she has written and passed the Level 1 stage out of the 3 stages, with the aim of becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst in the nearest future.

Mrs. Nnachi spent 11 years in ICPC, where she rose to become an Assistant Chief Accountant on Grade Level 13. During this period, she headed the Salary Unit and Advances Unit of the Finance and Accounts Department. She was the head of different Review Teams for the System Study and Review of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and had a rare privilege to head an Investigation Team. She served as the Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the ICPC Co-operative Society also as Chairperson, ICPC Cooperative Society Accounts Strengthening Committee. She was at a time the SERVICOM Officer of the Finance and Accounts Department, the Chairperson of the Finance & Accounts Staff Welfare Committee, and the Chairperson of the Fixed Assets Inventory Committee of the ICPC. 
One of her outstanding and memorable performances in ICPC was taking the overall first position in striping and coupling of AK47 Riffle during a 3-week course in Arms Training of ICPC Staff, at 177 Guards Battalion, Shittu Alao Barracks, Keffi, Nasarawa State.
In 2016, Mrs. Nnachi joined the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as a Senior Manager. She served as a Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, FIRS during which time she was the head of the Investigation Unit in the Office of the Executive Chairman.  She was also the Coordinator, FIRS Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Projects and represented FIRS on the MSME Clinic Inter-Agency Committee in the Office of the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, from December 2016 to July 2020. She also represented the Office of the Executive Chairman on the FIRS/FCT-IRS Transition Committee.
Presently, Mrs. Nnachi is the Head of Returns and Reconciliations Unit in the Office of the State Co-ordinator overseeing FCT, Kogi and Nasarawa FIRS Tax Offices.

Lolo has attended numerous Local and International Trainings, Seminars and Conferences to enhance her job performance, some of which were personally sponsored. 

Since 2011 when Mrs. Nnachi joined the Abuja and District Society of the CITN, she has served in different capacities such as – Member - Membership Committee, Member - Tax Week Committee, Member - Conference Committee, Chairperson - Investiture Committee, Deputy Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman and today the Chairman of the District.

Mrs. Clara Nnachi is born again, a devout Christian whose love for and faith in God is demonstrated in her passion and zeal in service to the Church and humanity. She is a member of Family Worship Centre, Abuja and a proud Minister, as well as, a Counsellor in Church. 

As a purveyor of goodness, she is a passionate giver and regularly embarks on charitable and philanthropic missions such as: empowering women and youths with cash grants for entrepreneurial purposes; hospital visitations where she identifies indigent patients and helps to pay their bills, visitations to Correctional Centres where she does not only give them food and other basic supports, but assists in paying the fines of some inmates to enable them gain freedom. She has given herself a target to support over 200 youths to advance in their education, a desire she has been pursing aggressively since 2010 as a way of giving back to the Society, in gratitude for what God has done in her life.  

Lolo is an embodiment of human kindness, care, and love. Her very numerous kind gestures have earned her titles like – “Nneoha” (Mother of Many), “Nwanyi obi oma” (Woman with a Kind heart) “Oso di-ya eme” (the one that does as her husband does) to mention but a few.

Lolo Clara Ijeoma Nnachi is married to Senator (Chief) Michael Ama Nnachi, Ph.D, the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Ebonyi State. Their marriage is blessed with three lovely children.

The investiture ceremony whch took place at International Conference Center, Abuja attracted number of personalities including the Senate President Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan and many other Senators, Minister of State for Steal Development Chief  Uche Ogah. captains of industries and CEOs of parastals among others.
