The Ebonyi State Executive Council has approved the sum of N195 million for the take off of King David Academy and State vocational college.
The State Commissioner for Information and state Orientation,Barr. Uchenna Orji
who disclosed this while briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive meeting in Abakaliki said the approval has become necessary to enable the two institutions take off smoothly.
He said the Council approved over N145 million,for King David Academy,while N50 million was also approved for the vocational college,for successful take off.
Also, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Vocational College and Chairman take off Committee on King David Academy, Mrs. Adaeze Nwaji
said,council resolved that King David Academy will reopen on 1st November,2020,instead of 5th October,to enabled the committee put things together for the successful reopening.
She called on Ebonyians to endeavor to register their children who are knowledgeable enough into the schools so as to bring the best in them.
In a related development the
Ebonyi state government has approved over N4 billion for the second phase of palliative in the state.
Dr. Kenneth Ugballa, Secretary to the state government who disclosed this said the council took the decision to further cushion the effect of hardship,associated by covid-19 pandemic.
His words;"The state government is set to distribute another palliative to the people, a kind of replica of what we did, during the peak of the struggle of Covid-19,
"This is going to be the second phase of the distribution exercise, for December 2020".
"This is aimed at, ensuring the hardship that is associated to the pandemic is cushioned on our people,
"And the state government is set to spend above four billion naira on this on our people for the council has approved, and it Shall be implemented, according to the directives of the council", he said.
