Umahi swears in new council chairmen in Ebonyi state

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has sworn in the 13 newly elected council Chairmen in the State.
Speaking while inaugurating the council chairmen in Abakaliki governor Umahi charged them to always carry the people along and embark on projects that have direct impact on the citizenry.
“You should strive and deliver dividends of democracy on the people that elected you, this is very important.” He said.
He enjoined the chairmen to carry their vice along in the scheme of things and work with those who worked for them adding that any of the vice chairmen could be anything tomorrow as it is just by God’s design.
Umahi disclosed that some of the chairmen did very well in their first tenure and have not in any way betrayed the state government and as a matter of fact, he has no regret for believing in them.
He admonished the newly elected chairmen to work for their people as that amounts to working for God and that in as much as they trust in God those fighting them will definitely lose.
He also commended the caretaker chairmen for being true ambassadors and fighting gallantly during the period of COVID – 19 pandemic and putting measures in place to curb the spread of the dreaded disease.
“I have no regret together with my officials for believing in you. And for talking to God to bring you (chairmen) back, same with our party executives. They have done well to us, even when we lobby them, begged them, they listened and did not betray us. So when it was time for us to betray them, we refused to betray them.
“Do not fail to work for the people because when you work for the people, you are as well working for God. There is no one that fights you while your trust is on God will succeed.
