The Ebonyi State University has dismissed report in some quarters that it has directed all 100 Level students to return and complete their registration.

A statement by the institution through its Registrar Mrs. Bibian Nkechi Nwokwu described such publication as not malicious and criminal, but a gross misinformation of position of Ebonyi state university.

The statement asked “parents, students and the general public to disregard the release in its entirety”, adding that “there is no iota of truth about the release.”

It read in full: "The attention of management of Ebonyi state university Abakaliki, has been drawn to a certain online publication with a fictitious directive from Register the university asking all 100 Level students to return and complete their registration

"The said publication is not malicious and criminal, but a gross misinformation of position of Ebonyi state university at this time of National and Global hardship brought about by COVID-19 pandemic"

"It should be noted that since the federal Government, through the National university Commission, NUC, directed all university across the country to shut down as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Ebonyi state university has remained shut down and remains so, until the appropriate authorities direct otherwise"

"All students of Ebonyi state university, parents and guardians should please remain calm, as the university management shall issue a proper statement on the appropriate resumption date, which will include all applicable COVID-19 protocols as they concern staff and students"

"Do not fall to the cheap antics of desperate persons, who are only out to defraud students and parents of their hard earned money".
