Ebonyi Govt Provides PPE, Other Covid-19 Safety Measures For Students Writing WAEC.

As West African Examination Council (WAEC) Examination commences tomorrow,August 17,2020, Ebonyi State government has provided Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) such as facemasks, hand sanitizers for all the students sitting for the Exams and other external Exams in the State.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Onyebuchi Chima who disclosed this in a statement in Abakaliki on Sunday said the materials were to be supplied to the students writing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) and Students in junior secondary School (JSS3),and their teachers.

Recall that Ebonyi State government recently trained over four thousand teachers on safety measures in line with the recommendations of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) towards resumption of school activities in the state.

Part of the statement reads: "our Education Friendly Governor, Engr. Dr David Nweze Umahi FNSE,FNATE has graciously reopened and provided all Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) needed  for  SS3  and JS3 final/exit class Examinations in Ebonyi State.

"WAEC-SSCE, NECO-SSCE,  NECO-BECE, State-BECE, National Technical & Business Certificate Examinations for SS3 and JS3 to start respectively from Monday 17th August 2020  till Saturday 14 November 2020."

Mr  Chima urged all hands to be on decks to ensure a hitch free examinations for the students.

"Teachers, Students, Parents, Guardians, Supervisors, Invigilators and  Monitors are encouraged to support a hitch-free Examinations in Ebonyi State as that will positively impact on  the higher ranking of education in Ebonyi State"

He Added that "Ebonyi students have always done well in Examinations and we Must help them to continue to do so and to  observe all NCDC  Protocols during the Examination period."

He commended the State Governor for the prompt response to educational needs in the state as well as his continual support towards mass literacy in Ebonyi.
